Your Journey In The Program
-
Mentors and mentees collaborate for 6 months to work on the mentee’s personal development and professional goals.
Mentees go on to achieve excellent outcomes in a variety of areas, including rewriting business plans and strategies, launching a new business, increasing confidence, developing skills, expanding their professional network, and more!
Mentors experience similar benefits, including understanding new cultures or industries, improving their listening, communication, and leadership abilities, and contributing to the success of another individual and their business.

The launch event has a tradition of creating a magical evening for the whole team. The founder, regional lead, cohort leaders, mentors & mentees are all present and come together to commit to a transformational journey. The agenda includes networking, food & drinks but also a presentation led by our founder Shivangi Walke, on mentoring. It’s what sets the tone for the next 6 months.
The Matching Technique has been perfected over 30+ launches since the start. We pre-match each mentee to 3 mentors who are best suited to their needs based on their registration forms and then they meet for 12 minutes each during the matching rounds. Following the chemistry test, they put their preferences down which helps cohort leaders match them to the best of their ability.
-
Each mentee and mentor are matched within 24 hours of the launch event which triggers a set of emails with resources like their contact details, mentoring contract, meeting review template, guides for both mentors & mentees, and more.
Mentees are advised to take initiative and set the first meeting with their mentor. Following this, the organization team triggers a series of emails to support each pair with resources, reminders, and any support they need.
-
Pulse Check Calls are set with mentors & mentees separately 2 or more times in the 6-month journey by cohort leaders. It is to monitor progress and check in with each pair to see how each mentoring pair is doing.
Mentors usually share progress and any issue they have been facing which is then managed by cohort leaders’ help or with the advice from peer mentors.
Mentees also share how their relationships are going and in case of any unmet expectations, cohort leaders step in to manage the relationship.
-
Our Power Networking Event is the midpoint of each cohort. According to a study published in the Journal of Human Relations by SAGE Publishing, what stops most women from networking is their self-imposed barrier such as gendered modesty, a tendency to undersell their values and strengths, and a reluctance to use their connections to advance in their careers.
Power Networking Events have a structure that encourages everyone to put forward an ask and get a solution from everyone in the room in return. This event is to ensure better relationships in the cohort beyond the mentor-mentee pairs and also to understand the value of networking.
-
Community building is a continuous process where collective efforts are taken to create an inclusive and equitable space. A space that ensures holistic development. And we encourage you to keep being a part of ours.
Closure event marks the end of the 6 month journey but we encourage members to use our global networking platform to keep interacting with members and also join our events.
We celebrate the wonderful mentoring journeys of our cohort members during this event where they share highlights and learnings.
We commemorate the journeys with a Thrive Certificate of completion, a matter of pride for most Thrivers who have taken the effort to complete their mentoring programme.
-
Our dedicated support team assists the pairs throughout their journey.

Thrive is a volunteer-led organisation with a few paid employees. The registration fees are mainly used to pay employees and our administrative costs from the technology platforms we use to liability insurance, elements foundational to run a global non-profit organization.

A mentor is a person who can support, advise and guide you. They typically take the time to get to know you and the challenges you're facing and then use their understanding and personal experience to help you improve.
What a mentor isn't:
❌ While a mentor can provide invaluable support and guidance across a range of topics including mental health, they are not a therapist. It is important to establish this with all parties participating in mentoring.
❌ A mentor is not the same as a coach. Coaches are paid for and provide time-bound teaching on specific topics.
❌ Mentoring is not a magic cure. While mentoring can support a range of development goals and has many benefits for both parties and organizations, it isn’t going to fix everything. There are many complementary ways to develop your people alongside mentoring.

In addition to profile information such as LinkedIn, TwM collects information from mentors around their strengths and mentees around their needs.
Based on this information, and potentially additional conversations, Thrive cohort leaders pre-match each mentee with up to 3 possible mentors and also each mentor with up to 3 possible mentees. During the launch event - these pre-matched pairs have conversations, which are about getting to know each other and feeling the chemistry.
Both mentors and mentees are asked to specify their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd preferences. The matches are finalized to maximize preference choices.

No. Mentoring is extremely personal and individualized. Eac mentee and mentor work on very different topics from session to session depending on the mentee's needs and goals. Thrive offers several resources like mentoring contract, meeting review template and other optional tools for pairs to use. We have a mentor training video series and cohort leaders regularly check-in with each pair an offer support if needed.
-
The mentor is asked to make a symbolic contribution towards the administration costs to keep the fee for the mentee realistic and to ensure her commitment to the batch.

When you select the sustaining and mid options, it allows us to give more scholarships to those who wouldn't otherwise be able to join. We would love to be able to support you in joining the program if the full program fees are not within your means for you this year.
If you are BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, if you are a single mother, if you work in a low-income field, or if you are experiencing financial hardship, please know that you can apply for one of our scholarships.
