YOU ARE WINNING IT.

Homemaker. Career woman. Coach. Mother to two boys. Farmer. Entrepreneur. Friend. Wife. Woman. I am sure this hasn’t even scratched the surface when it comes to listing the so very many hats that a very close friend of mine dons.

Entrepreneur. Has turned her passion into a full time occupation. Single mom to a young girl. Friend and Confidante. Breadwinner. Home maker. Woman. Another close friend of mine.

Professional. Coach in training. Mother to three boys in the range of 1 to 16 years. Wife. Woman. Looking for ways to truly follow her calling in life without it coming in the way of bringing up her kids. Another buddy of mine.

A lot of women that I meet in the way of my work and also personally are so driven in what they do that sometimes I wonder what are the “man”made shackles that people talk of, or the glass ceiling. Of course I do understand the pay gap, the monetisation of gender differences, the politicality of race and ethnicity. But it beats me that in spite of that, all these women find the courage and the will to do what they love doing without worrying about what the rest of the world will think about them.

That woman is of course you too.

When you make time for a salon visit or a gym session, you are winning it.

When you go on stage with a bleeding eye liner, and you know the nanny hasn’t shown up yet, you are winning it.

When you ask your partner to stay back, so that you get your ladies’ night, you are winning it.

When you get your annual PAP smear and mammogram, you are winning it.

When you get to cuddle with your tiny tots after killing yourself in high heels all day, you are winning it.

When you share that tub of ice cream with your recently broken up kid and have a training to deliver tomorrow, you are killing it.

It is my birthday tomorrow. My husband is in India taking care of his ailing mother. And I am going to keep our promise to our boys and go see Frozen II and then go for ’all you can eat Sushi”. I know I am winning it.

When you want to look for inspiration, you don't have to look very far. Sometimes all you have to do is look in the mirror.
